Rep. Watson Coleman Issues Statement In Strong Support of Workers’ Rights
Washington, D.C. (February 13, 2024) — Today, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman issued the following statement in support of workers’ rights, including the right to form a union and negotiate a fair contract with their employer:
“As a progressive, I am a proud supporter of union power and collective bargaining to achieve fair pay, benefits, and dignity for their workers.
“Workers who generate billions of dollars in profit for some of the biggest airlines in the world deserve fair compensation and safe working conditions as they provide a high quality in-flight experience for travelers around the globe.
“American, Air Wisconsin, Alaska, Allegiant, Southwest, Frontier and United Airlines together raked in more than $5 billion in straight profits last year. I strongly encourage both parties to work together to negotiate a fair contract.”
