Watson Coleman elected Vice-Chair At-Large of Congressional Progressive Caucus

On Tuesday, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) was elected by fellow members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus to serve as Vice-Chair at Large.

Congresswoman Watson Coleman will bring her extensive experience as a progressive legislator in both the New Jersey State Assembly House and Congress to the executive board. The Congresswoman will focus on the legislation needed to help get everyday Americans “from the first of the month to the end of the month.” Her legislative efforts to address economic inequality – including introducing a jobs guarantee, guaranteed income, and the PAID Act to prohibit discrimination in automobile insurance – coupled with her efforts at criminal justice reform, like the End For-Profit Prisons Act and the Next Step Act, offer a path forward for Progressives in Congress.

“I’m honored my fellow Progressive Caucus members have entrusted me as a Vice-Chair for the 117th Congress,” said Congresswoman Watson Coleman. “The COVID-19 pandemic has created great challenges for our country that will require bold solutions. I look forward to working with my fellow progressives to ensure we emerge from this crisis a more fair and just country.”
