Rep. Watson Coleman Statement on Recent Antisemitic Attacks
Today, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman issued the following statement regarding the recent antisemitic attacks in Washington, D.C. and Boulder, CO:
“Over the past few weeks we have seen a deeply disturbing rise in incidents of antisemitic violence. First, here in the nation’s capital where two young people were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum. And this weekend in Boulder, CO, when demonstrators calling for the safe return of hostages still held by Hamas terrorists were attacked with firebombs — sending multiple people to the hospital and terrorizing the community.
“These brazen acts of anti-Jewish hatred are despicable. They are an affront to every value I hold dear.
“Vicious attacks on innocent people do nothing to advance the cause of Palestinian freedom. It is an insult to those who are suffering to commit heinous acts of violence in their name.
“Bill and I are praying for the victims of these egregious attacks, for their families, and for their communities. This kind of hate has no place in the United States. We are better than this.”
