Rep. Watson Coleman Joins Ewing Officials to Mark Milestone in Rebuilding of Community Center

Ewing, New Jersey (Feb 18, 2026) - Today, Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) participated in a topping out ceremony to celebrate the placement of the final structural beam for the new Ewing Township Senior and Community Center, which burned down during a five-alarm fire in September 2022.

As the center was a staple in Ewing, the fire disrupted important programs and resources that unified residents. Rep. Watson Coleman helped secure $1 million for its rebuilding, and Ewing broke ground last March.

“This is such a full circle moment for me with the center’s re-opening being slated for later this year; my last year in Congress.” said Watson Coleman. “It’s a privilege for one of the last fruits of my team’s labor to be right here at home. At a time when we seem to need community more than ever, I look forward to the day we can cut the ribbon and finally reopen our community center.”

“The placement of this final beam is a significant milestone,” Watson Coleman continued. “With the bones of the building complete, we are closer to this center, and our community, being whole again.”
