Rep. Watson Coleman Hosts Town Hall in Princeton
Yesterday, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) held a Town Hall at the Suzanne Patterson Center in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Congresswoman hosted local residents and community leaders from the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, Resistencia en Acción, and the Latin American Legal and Education Fund. She addressed constituents’ concerns over expiring health care subsidies and Republicans’ delay in extending them; ICE and DHS’ violent immigration operations in New Jersey and across the nation; President Trump’s attack on Venezuela and destabilization of the nation’s global standing; and the growing GOP affordability crisis.
“I wanted to hold this Town Hall because so much has happened in the last month or so,” said Rep. Watson Coleman in her remarks. “Among those of you who RSVP’d, the most common question is: what can I do? What can I do about the craziness? What can I do to help my neighbors? What can I do to save my country? I don’t have all the answers, but I can tell you it starts with meetings like this one. Look around you, there are over 100 of you here, many of them have the same concerns you do. When this Town Hall is over, talk to your neighbors.”
Following the Town Hall, Rep. Watson Coleman stated that, “I’m grateful to be able to hear directly from my constituents in Princeton and answer many of their questions. Many expressed their frustration with the lawlessness of the DHS operations. Their frustration with the corruption in the White House. Their frustration with the lack of willingness of Congressional Republicans to protect Congress’ authority. I promised to keep fighting for the 12th District, who sent me to Washington on their behalf.”
