BONNIE WATSON COLEMAN RECOGNIZES BLACK HISTORY MONTH

This Black History Month, let's remember that we are standing on the shoulders of giants. We are balanced on a legacy of resilience. As we march in our greatness we are following in the footsteps of Martin Luther King, Jr., Fannie Lou Hamer, Thurgood Marshall, Medgar Evers and Maya Angelou. As we stand on the front lines of justice we carry the weight of Shirley Chisholm, James Baldwin, Sojourner Truth and Jesse Owens. We are covered by a cloak of resilience as demonstrated by Neil Degrasse Tyson, Oprah Winfrey, the Honorable John Lewis and Toni Morrison. We are constantly reminded of the heroes that go unrecognized but their significance not forgotten. But most importantly, we must look within ourselves. Happy Black History Month.
