CO-CHAIRS OF THE CAUCUS ON BLACK WOMEN AND GIRLS ISSUE STATEMENT ON THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S PUSH TO END DEI AND ELIMINATE SERVICES FOR VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES

Today, Representatives Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), and Robin Kelly (IL-02), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls, issued the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s Executive Orders aimed to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and services for vulnerable communities:

“By rolling back key policies aimed at addressing systemic racism, discrimination, and gender inequality, this administration not only undermined efforts to create more equitable opportunities in education, employment, and healthcare, but it also sent a clear message – the experiences and needs of Black women and girls are not a priority,” said the Members.

“The Trump Administration’s actions reduce access to diversity training, affirmative action, and other supportive measures. They have deepened barriers to equal opportunities and stifled efforts to create workspaces, schools, and communities that reflect and respect the lived experiences of Black women and girls in our nation. We will relentlessly continue our vital fight for fairness, opportunity, and justice to ensure that progress is not erased, but strengthened for every future generation depending on it.”
