In the News
This week, myself, my fellow members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, advocates and allies held a press conference to to announce a grassroots petition signed by over 120,000 people in support of the CPC’s The People’s Budget: A Roadmap for the Resistance. Watch my remarks here.

Two weeks ago, I joined my colleagues on the Committee on Homeland Security, Ranking Member Bennie Thompson and Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. sent a letter to Customs and Border Patrol requesting more information on the allegations of extreme hazing Newark Airport. I spoke with Sarah Wallace of NBC4 New York about my concerns. See her report by clicking the video below.

In Committee
The Committee on Homeland Security convened to hear from Secretary Kelly on the Department of Homeland Security's  Reauthorization and the President's FY2018 Budget Request. It was there, I asked him about the status of the proposed laptop ban and expansion and how DHS would smoothly transition its implementation.
In answering my question, Sec. Kelly made the announcement that the U.S. government is considering banning laptops from the cabins of inbound flights from 71 airports overseas, a dramatic increase from the 10 airports where the security protocol currently applies. Watch it here. Read more here.
In the Office
Special shout out to Lane Penry and Adrienne Gonzalez, Esq of Bristol-Myers Squibb who stopped by my DC office to talk about the company's important work to create a diverse and inclusive workplace. Thanks for stopping in!

Ahead of House GOP passage of the #WrongChoiceAct I sat down with Yana Miles of the Center for Responsible Lending. Watch our chat on Facebook and find out how this bill is an attack on the future of New Jersey's hardworking families.
